Meet the giant pandas
Visit Chengdu's best-known panda attraction and learn about conservation work.
Private & Customizable · 5 Days / 4 Nights
Meet giant pandas, explore the ancient Dujiangyan irrigation system, stand before the Leshan Giant Buddha and discover the sacred mountain landscapes of Mount Emei—all on a Chengdu-based Sichuan journey.
This 5-day Chengdu and UNESCO tour links four signature experiences: Chengdu's giant pandas, the historic Dujiangyan irrigation system, the Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei. It is designed as a customizable route with Chengdu as the main base.
Prefer archaeology? Sanxingdui Museum can replace Dujiangyan on request. It is an alternative visit, not an extra stop automatically added to the standard five-day plan.
This is a suggested framework. The final order, hotel locations and daily timing should be adapted to your arrival/departure times, group size, travel dates and Mount Emei priorities.
Meet your driver and transfer to your hotel. Keep the first day flexible for check-in and recovery, with optional free time for a relaxed city walk or Sichuan dinner.
Visit Chengdu's signature panda attraction. An early visit is recommended because pandas are often more active in the cooler morning hours. Explore the viewing areas and learn about panda conservation and breeding programmes.
Travel to Dujiangyan to explore the ancient irrigation system, a remarkable example of water engineering that has helped sustain the Chengdu Plain for more than two thousand years. Learn how its channels and water-diversion structures manage the Min River.
Travel to Leshan to see the monumental cliff-carved Buddha overlooking the meeting of three rivers. A walking visit brings you close to the sculpture; a river cruise, when operating, offers a wider view of the full statue.
Explore selected areas of Mount Emei, one of China's celebrated Buddhist sacred mountains and part of the UNESCO-listed Mount Emei Scenic Area. The mountain is extensive; the achievable route depends on weather, scenic transport, cable-car operations and your departure time.
The itinerary brings together distinct aspects of Sichuan. Chengdu introduces the region's panda conservation work and urban culture. Dujiangyan explains the water engineering that shaped the Chengdu Plain.
Leshan offers one of China's most remarkable Buddhist sculptures, while Mount Emei adds mountain landscapes, temples and religious heritage. It is a strong first-time route for travellers interested in wildlife, history and culture. The pace can be adjusted for families, private groups, photography interests or visitors who prefer shorter walks.

If ancient civilizations and archaeology interest you more than water engineering, the Dujiangyan day can be replaced with a visit to Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan.
Sanxingdui is known for extraordinary Bronze Age discoveries, including distinctive bronze masks, figures and ritual objects associated with ancient Shu culture. Museum entry arrangements and timed reservations may apply; availability should be checked for your travel date.
Visiting both Dujiangyan and Sanxingdui may require a longer tour or a compressed schedule and should be quoted separately.
